Diesel Mechanic

OFFICES: Pico Rivera

OBJECTIVE: Responsible for all armored vehicle inspections, maintenance and repairs of all Company-owned armored truck fleet.

The qualified candidate will perform maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on cars, trucks and forklift equipment. This position will also perform maintenance of equipment to manufacturers guidelines to maintain the safety and reliability of the unit.

Also perform repair work on vehicles such as engine in frame overhaul, valve job, transmission R & R, Turbo PM.

Perform operational test of repairs to verify complaint. Diagnose cause of any malfunctions and performs repairs to manufacturer's specifications including engines, transmissions and suspensions and steering, fuel and ignition (gas and diesel) electrical systems, brakes, HVAC systems.

Follow paper-flow procedures, including documenting correct mileage, save and tag all warranty and core parts, document all repairs on work orders complaints, follow part ordering/billing procedures.

Perform final operational test on all vehicles to check all repairs. Inspect for cracks or damages on all vehicles to assess needed repairs. Fabricate parts as needed to complete repair including any design work. All other duties as assigned.

The minimum knowledge, education, experience, skills and/or abilities required to perform this job are, including any physical requirements:

Minimum 3-5 years experience of Diesel Medium/Light duty repair with knowledge of engines, transmission, brake and suspension, hydraulics of varies vehicles.

Must have experience in Ford/GM/International engines a plus.

Must obtain and maintain D.O.T. certification.

Current and valid California Drivers license- Class B

Must have own tools.

Physical Demands: Ability to operate forklift equipment, to stand, sit, walk, bend and reach, crawl and climb and squat. The ability to push/pull,lift and carry up to 50 lbs - 75 lbs. Ability to grasp tools, repetitive motion (wrenches).

Working conditions: Occasionally work outdoors, exposed to noise and be able to climp heights of up to 12 feet.
